National Public Lands Day - September 29, 2007

Get ready to Join us and get Krazeez's:

The outlaws are going up Logan Canyon, to work in the Ephraim's grave area, up Temple Fork in Logan Canyon.

OUTLAWS go North for NPLD: September 29 Cache Valley, Old Ephraim's Grave area.
The Outlaws will be fixing and building fence. YEHAW!!
Larry lead the charge and much was accomplished.

Progress, you can start to see some serious progress.

Old Ephraim's grave is a located in Logan canyon off the Temple Fork Road. Follow Highway 89 from Logan, Utah about 20 miles and take a right turn at Temple Fork turn off. Follow the nice dirt road another 5 miles or so and you arrive at Ephraims grave. Old Ephraim was an infamous grizzly bear a hearty appetite for sheep, cattle, and big game. The 1,100-pound beast was the last grizzly bear known to roam the Northern range of the Wasatch Cache National Forest in Utah. The grave has a gigantic 11-foot stone monument that marks Ephraim's 1923 grave site.

The grave site is a popular stop on your Jeeping and Mountain biking adventures through the back country of Logan's National Forest. For this Project you can see that a nice new fence was installed around the Parking area and the fence was added to help direct traffic into the parking lot on away from other sensitive area around the grave site.

It's time for National Public Lands Day (NPLD) 2007! Like last year, U4WDA and our member clubs are organizing projects across the state.  Check www.u4wda.org/ npld to find out what your club will be doing, or plan on attending the big group project.
